As at Thursday, CUSTODIAN AND ALLIED PLC had the lead with a 9.9% gain and closing at N4.96K. FIDELITY Bank followed closely with a gain of 8.06% and closed at N2.68K.

For last week overall, the Leading stock is undoubtedly WEMA BANK PLC with a gain of 26.92% and a closing price of N0.99k. It is followed by GLAXO SMITHKLINE CONSUMER NIG.PLC with a gain of 21.21% and a closing of N34.00K.

On the flipside, JAPAUL OIL AND MARITIME SERVICES PLC took the lead on the losing side this week with a loss of 14.49% and a closing of N0.59K. It was followed by CHAMPION BREWERIES.PLC with a loss of 11.44% and a closing of N2.40K.

Sector performance for today, as measured by the NSE indices, shows that only the NSE CONSUMER GOODS INDEX advanced with 0.07% at the close of trade on this week, while the NSE BANKING index (NSEBNK) recorded a decline of 3.36%. The All-Share Index dropped by 0.40% to close at N41,339.28.

Despite the losses registered by major players ACCESS Bank and Zenith Bank this week, as at the end of last week, the Banking sector accounted for N154.82million of total volume traded at 2.23 Billion by value and was quickly followed by Other financial Institutions that accounted for 26.21Million of total volume and 337.00 Million worth of value traded.
